About

As part of its mandate to develop and coordinate national research capacities, the National Center for Research and Development (NCRD) established the Biotechnology Program in 2005 to strengthen Jordan’s capabilities in applied biotechnology.

The program advances research and development across priority sectors including agriculture, health, animal sciences, environment, and industry, in alignment with national development goals. It supports applied scientific research, fosters innovation and technology transfer, and builds strategic partnerships with local and international institutions.

By translating scientific knowledge into practical applications and economically productive initiatives, the Biotechnology Program contributes to sustainable development and reinforces Jordan’s position within the regional and global bio economy landscape.
